TSAP Plan 2027

The Sunil Abraham Project (TSAP) began in October 2025 as a digital publishing, documentation, and archiving initiative. Its first year was devoted largely to bringing dispersed material together, building the structure needed to organise it, and developing the technical and editorial foundations of a public archive. The Year One Lookback records this development, from the first four pages published in October 2025 to a substantial collection supported by portals, structured metadata, preservation work, and original creative projects.

In 2027, the project intends to build on that foundation by giving greater attention to the value, use, and continued development of the material already collected, while creating room for original writing, research, and new initiatives. This direction is consistent with the project’s wider purpose, described in The Sunil Abraham Project, of preserving and presenting work in an accessible, organised, and sustainable form.

Context

The 30th death anniversary of A. M. A. Ayrookuzhiel will be observed on 29 November 2026. The commemoration and its associated programme have been a major focus of project work during 2026. Following the programme, TSAP will gradually turn towards its priorities for 2027. Some work has already begun in advance.

This is a gradual transition rather than a single launch or a fixed deadline. The pace and scope of the work will depend on the needs of the archive, the progress of ongoing work, and the resources available. The intention is to develop the project deliberately, rather than measure progress only by the number of pages published.

Development priorities

The first-year review identified several areas in which the project could deepen its work during 2027: original research and writing; the continued development of the A. M. A. Ayrookuzhiel collection beyond the anniversary programme; the development of Internet and Free Knowledge in India as a scoped research initiative; systematic review of content and metadata; stronger preservation practices; and realistic approaches to public engagement and long-term resilience.

These are areas for consideration and development, not a claim that every activity has been approved, scheduled, or completed. Priorities may be refined during the year as the project identifies the most useful work to undertake. The aim is to make TSAP more useful as a research and documentation resource, while protecting its commitments to accessibility, openness, preservation, and continuity.

Planned work

Specific work planned for 2027 will be listed here gradually. Items will be added as priorities are clarified, work develops, and individual plans are ready to be recorded. The list is intentionally incomplete and should be read as a developing record rather than a final or exhaustive plan.

Relationship with the Versions archive

This page records TSAP’s development plans and priorities for 2027. It complements, rather than replaces, the Versions archive and its retrospective reports, including the Version 1.0 Lookback, the Version 2.0 Lookback, and the Year One Lookback. Those pages record milestones and developments that have taken place; this page records the evolving plans for work during 2027.

The project’s development will continue the work of turning an expanding archive into a resource that can be found, understood, preserved, and used. Its success will depend not only on what TSAP adds, but also on how well it connects, explains, and sustains the material it already holds.
