Infosys Launches Open-Source Responsible AI Toolkit

As more organisations embrace the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI), IT major Infosys has launched an open-source "Responsible AI" toolkit to address various risks and ethical concerns. Part of the Infosys Topaz Responsible AI Suite, this toolkit assists businesses in adopting AI ethically.

The new toolkit builds on the company's AI3S framework (scan, shield, and steer) by providing advanced defensive technical measures, including specialised AI models and shielding algorithms. These tools help detect and mitigate issues like privacy breaches, security threats, biased outcomes, harmful content, copyright violations, hallucinations, misuse, and deepfakes.

A key feature of the toolkit is its capacity to improve transparency in AI-generated outputs, helping businesses understand AI decision-making while ensuring high performance and seamless user experience. Being open-source, it offers flexibility, ease of implementation, and customisation to suit different AI models and organisational needs, functioning well on both cloud and on-premise systems.

Balakrishna D.R. (Bali), Executive Vice President at Infosys, said that ethical AI adoption is essential for enterprise growth. By making the toolkit open source, we are fostering a collaborative ecosystem that addresses the complex challenges of AI bias, opacity and security. Experts advocate for an open and inclusive approach to shaping the future of AI, ensuring widespread access to its benefits. This perspective has led to the formation of the AI Alliance, a consortium of IBM, Meta, and around 100 other organisations dedicated to promoting open, safe, and responsible AI development.

Sunil Abraham, Public Policy Director at Meta, noted that open-source code and datasets are crucial for empowering a diverse range of AI innovators and users, equipping them with the necessary tools to prioritise safety, diversity, and economic opportunities for all.

Organisations can access the Infosys Responsible AI toolkit through the company's official platforms, the company said.
